This site has been so helpful to me and I finally joined today! I have 6 mature hens (3 white leghorn and 3 barred rock) in my flock and 4 pullets (cream legbar) that I hope to integrate in the next few months. We are in suburban Charlotte and have converted my daughter's old playhouse into a coop with an adjoining run. We have had chickens for just a year and enjoy them immensely! They are allowed to free range when I'm outside and dogs are secured, so probably just a few hours/week.
