Hello,
Newbie here. We are in upstate NY, with six new chicks...New to this forum, new to chicken keeping. We have a Partridge Rock, Buff Orp, Gold sex link, Barred Rock, Gold laced Wyandotte and an Easter Egger my daughter has named "Cottontail.".
Our chicks were a bit varied in age, due to the fact that our local supplier suffered huge losses of birds in a local severe flood. So my gold laced is about 10 -12 days or more older than my newbie chicks (the sex link, easter egger and barred rock). Also, my Buff Orp and Partridge Rock are about a week or so older than the rest.
I have noticed the Gold laced is starting to want to fly...so I have provided her with a low perch in the brooder.
Any suggestions on how to work with the mixed ages?

and Welcome To BYC! X3 your chicks are close enough in age you should be able to put them together, for feed and temperature etc, I would go by what the youngest chicks need, just be sure there are cooler spots in the brooder and that it is good sized.
