I,m starting by keeping the girls in 24/7 a few days..after that will they start using the coop..any suggestions

I can't guarantee that they'll lay in there if they are free-ranging, but there's a pretty good chance they will. It will also help ensure that they'll go in there at night if you keep them in the coop 24/7 for several days.

Thanks for the reply..The group was kept in aa large cage, now introducing them to a very large yard.
love them birds, they are a chore...

I used to free range my hens and they would come back to the coop during the day for food or water or just to hangout..when we got our new coop and run done for them...they go to the coop during rainy days and to lay..the first night with the new coop was a long one..they would not go in..we had to put the ramp from our old coop on this one just for them to go in...but after the first night they go right in!! Chickens can be a chore but I love my chicken chores!! Good luck and post some pix soon!
