I'm delighted. They did great last night and they're frolicking and foraging about today. As I watch them today, I see they've learned to retreat to their roost box for warmth and rest. The big girls show extreme interest in them, so I'm glad there's a fence separating them. Now, that the first night is over, I'm feeling much better.

I think that first night out is harder for us then it is for them lol! I'm the same way, no matter that I've sent youngsters out to the grow out pen many a time, I still worry about them that first night. But you are definitely doing the right thing in raising them alongside the older girls for a while. When they finally do get together the pecking order scuffles will be much more minor. Less stress for them AND you!
