Introducing a new chick

Hi, I'm new to raising chickens and at this moment I have one 3 wk old Buff Orpington chick. Next week I'm getting a Black Australorp chick. Can I put the day old in the same brooder as the soon to be month old chick?

Every situation is different. They might go perfectly together or the bigger one might kill the baby. You'll have to be very careful and extremely watchful. It might seem okay at first and then turn bad later.

I'm so thankful I haven't had to deal with adding chicks, it seems stressful

Thank you! Pretty much what I thought. I have "Bettie" in a large tote so I think I will try a divider and see how that works and only put them together when I can oversee them. I'm hoping she's lonely enough to embrace the baby! LOL.
