I have one surviving Isa Brown after a wild dog tore off the wire and got into the chicken coup. I only had two and the other was put down due to her injuries. We are nursing the surviving chook back to health and is now having short spells in her coop. She has dog bites around her tail and has a sore leg so is limping. I would like to get another Isa Brown at point of lay so I have two again and she has company. Should I get the young one and put it in the coop before I fully re-introduce the recovering chook? Or should the recovering chook be fully recovered before I introduce a second one? Thank you for any advice you can give.
