Has anyone done this successfully?

I'm thinking, seriously, about replacing my RIR roo with a banty of some sort... but i only want to do it if i know i can do it safely. Does anyone have experience with introducing bantys to standards? I know plenty of people keep mixed flocks, but i can't find a ton of information about putting adult bantys in with adult standards.

it would be easier if the bantam roo were older and the standard pullets were younger.

This link gives a lot of good information on integrating chickens.

I haven't done it myself, but I'd suggest getting a bantam that is fully mature. Mahonri is right. Hens will terrorize a young rooster that is not completely self-confident. A mature rooster will establish his dominance quickly. I'd also make sure the full-sized rooster is not around when you introduce the new rooster. You should be able to do this without too much trouble.
