Introducing chick to other chicks

You sound like me! You want to keep it safe, but sometimes they prefer each other's company and it does more harm to separate them, she may cry to go back to the others. They are such social creatures!

Hahaha I'm so stressed about her. I had to help her hatch. I'm an interfere kind of person.

Maybe you could bring her and one other chick in and let them bond. Then bring them back out tomorrow?

I'm quoting what my husband tells me when I'm not sure what to do in the evening....'ok, I'm locking the door.. You either leave her outside or bring her in, make up your mind'.
It was so hot, I wanted to put them in a box and bring them in to the fan. And yet I thought maybe the cold evening air would cool them down. They are such innocent helpless little babies!!!

I understand, yes they do hate change, I had a single that was given to me from a friend & my older chicks would pick on him, but my silkies accepted him & they were separated from the teens for a while & then reintroduce to which the teens picked on him again, but this time he had places to hide in the big coop. After about 3 weeks they finally accepted him. Now I'm working on introducing my now 8 week old Sizzlers, sneaking them in as extra silkies, but they are still smaller, so it's not working yet, but they sleep with them in the roost, which I transfer them after dark & transfer them back to the Chicken Tractor. But I supervise & let them out during the day every time, we're still working on it. Just make sure she has somewhere to be able to hide & good luck, let me know how it goes & as will I.... Hugs

If it is too cold to leave her outside overnight, put a mirror in wherever you keep her so she doesn't get too lonely. But there is definitely a pecking order.

I was worried about mine that I went & bought a box fan & hung it with ⛓ & a wood bar across the bottom

after hanging the fan in the position we wanted we added barn screws to add extra security to keep in place.

we used light weight chain that would normally hang shop lights & secured italso with barn screws

not pictured we have the cord run along the top wood panel of the coop to the power supply

Sometimes something as simple as a small box they can jump on top or hide behind to get away from the others. I've found boxes can even keep them busy so they won't pick on each other as much. They don't have to be very old till they find what fun it is to jump on and off boxes, stretching their little wings, away from the heat lamp of course
