Okay so I have a little bit of a question that I am trying to figure out. I have 6 New Hampshire Red chicks that are just over five weeks old. I have them separated from the rest of my chickens right. I am wanting to put them in the coop with the rest of my chickens. I am just not sure how to go about this. I have one rooster and some days he is aggressive and other days he isn't. I don't want him to be a problem after I add the chicks. I am just trying to figure out the best way to handle this.

Simple firsty don't. they will be bullied big time.

What works is to share time together separated/between a thin wire mesh, so they can get very close and sociable but can't get pecked. Only when the chicks are about there size would i consider introducing them together, and this only at night time when they are docile.
