My rough coat collie goes everywhere in the house and yard with me so it was just natural that I let her stick her head in the brooder every time I went in to tend the chicks. She understands they are mine and they are great friends now. She is an exceptional dog but she is a dog; a predator by nature. You can never be 100% sure that the predator instinct won't kick in.
