(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We've had chickens before, awhile ago, but then moved across country, so this is our first flock in Texas. So about 3 months ago.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

We have 8 hens and 1 Rooster.

(3) What breeds do you have?

2 Black Copper Marans, 3 Easter Eggers, 3 that we were told are Rhode Island Reds but might also be EE. I think our roo is an Americauna, but don't know for sure.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

There's something relaxing about watching them free range, and I love their personalities. They come right up to the run door when I come outside and cluck away until I give them a treat. Also, seeing my granddaughter with them was amazing!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I crochet, garden, procrastinate chores, lol. My husband and I love to go camping and going to antique shops and vintage car shows.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

We've been married for almost 30 years, have 6 kids and 1 granddaughter. We also have 2 Doberman and 2 Dachshunds.
