introducing juveniles to juveniles?

i have two chickens that are about 2-1/2 months old. a friend has a few " accidental " chickens that are about 6 months old she is willing to give us. is it ok to add the older ones? maybe 2 or 3 hens and a roo.

I introduced 6 week olds to 6 week olds without incident. They all just stared at each other for a while and then all started eating. I'm certainly not an expert, but I would just be careful about the other flock and how they were cared for...diseases and sicknesses introduced to your chickens would be a cause for concern.

close to the same age is a big plus, but I still find introducing newcomers to the flocks hard most of time!
