Yep shouldn't be long now at all! I just put yesterdays eggs under a broody hen that I don't have the heart to break so expecting a few new silkies on the 19/20th of December if she doesn't abandon them she is only 7 months old but didn't break on day one of prison. So said what the heck her nest is in the coop so will have very close access to food and water. Can you see the pip in the egg it's a bit blurry.
Hmm doesn't look like a Sumatra chick, do you have any topside photos and maybe one with the soles of its feet? The legs just look so melanistic for a young sumatra and they usually have alternating yellow and blackish brown stripes running from face to tail. We assumed Sumatra and you had listed a different spelling initially. Regardless, I'm sure you are going to like this bird. Samartura was how you described the eggs initially but google didn't turn anything up for me so I assumed you meant Sumatra. How did the rest of the hatch go?Here's a picture of him.
