hi everyone. i think i did my post in the wrong place so am pasting it here
hope this is the right place to post this
i'd like to share a little about my pet rooster coucoumimi, he is 4 and half years old
i dont really know what breed but i just love him
he got his name from the way he sings... he starts off strong "COOOUCOOOU"... then he runs out of breath and murmurs "mmmimmmiiii "
he and his sister was given to be by my maid in Mauritius to cheer me up when my pet sparrow died.
he lives indoors ! always had for the last 4.5 years, he sleeps in one of our guest rooms in a big plastic basket lined with cloth and news paper as bedding, we set him outside to play with the hens every morning at 7am and at dusk he will be scratching at the kitchen door to get inside.
he demands his 30mins-1hour play time or he will sulk and go on a mini rampage, kicking over his dinner and water bowl ( oh and he drinks from a genuine silver antique bowl!!! he wont drink from anything thing else
its worth around $ 300 easy! )
and little snacks, usually a sweet biskit or a little bit of cake icing
he always make this high pitch clucking sound when he is happy. sometimes he will take a nibble, put the rest of what he is eathing.... circle around it clucking happily and nibbling some more then circling again
he sorts of hug me too ! he stands on the stairs a few steps above me and he puts his neck on my shoulder near my neck, he leans into me and just stays like that
i have to cuddle and talk to him , sometimes we watch tv together, though he just likes to be in my lap and sleeps through out most of the show.
he cries when a member of the family leaves the room he is in. he sorts of whines like a dog would, its heart breaking! almost 100% of the time we have to go back to pet him before we can be "dismissed"
i tried to get him to do it in one of the vids but he doesnt do it all the time.
he has lunch with the hens but for his dinner.... well he gets the royal treatment !
he has a handfull of chicken feed.... some dried corn , usually the type used for popcorn.......
then some random veg, half a pulped tomato or some chopped cucumber... the juick seedy bits or some chopped grapes
i uploaded a bunch of vids of him to youtube enjoy
i left him with dad while i came to uk to do my masters degree.
god i miss him, i feel like crying am missing him so much
