My new Hen and one of my other girls had a fight and drew blood! I am very worried! will they really get used to being together eventually? how long will it take? I love them and want them to be happy, unharmed and safe, together in harmony!! Varooka

Chickens have to work out a pecking order to figure who eats what and when. You should greet them through a fence for a few weeks but sometimes that's not an option so just have an abundance of treats available to keep the other chickens busy and not picking on new hen.

Hello there, thank you Whittni, it's been 3 days now and we are on constant duty to make sure that no more blood is shed! Our new girl and our little one have fought, our other two are quite passive and are not interested in a fight at all! there has been much talk and squealing between them, one time they were out together, that's when the blood was drawn, the new one inflicting the injury! but our little one being aggressive and initiating the fight. We will keep them separate as long as necessary and are hoping they will eventually live peacefully together, the new one is the same size as our other two and our little aggressor is a small Bantam. Our aim is to be patient until peace is achieved! Your advice is greatly appreciated, but even when treats are there, they ignore them and seem to want to concentrate on beating each other up!
