Introducing Myself Again---Wanting to Share

I clean only the dirty spots in the pine shavings. They are now used to the kitty litter scoop and run up to it. Such silly babies!

I have noticed the Americaunas aren't as friendly as the Houdans, Polish or Silkies. Is this a normal trait for that breed?

When I bought them the guy told me that they were straight runs ( I finally figured out what straight run means!) except for the Americaunas. He told me they were pullets. Anyway, when will I know if the rest are girls or boys?

Just love this forum with all the knowledge. I have been doing tons of searching learning chicken lingo. The other day one of the Silkies had poo on its rearend. And thanks to this forum I learned what to do and why it had poo on its rearend. It was the one and only time so far anyone had poo on them.

I made them little roosts out of two by fours yesterday. They love it! They jump on it, run over it, and some of them are sleeping on it. So cute.

Oh, thanks for the compliment on my user name. It is actually the name of one of my rescued donkeys.

I don't have my chicks yet but you pose a good question about how soon/how much to handle them.

So is the consensus to leave them be for the first day?

That's gonna be hard
