(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am completely new to having chickens- I adopted my chickens two weeks ago.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have two.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Silkies- though I'm not sure which breed of silkies specifically.
(4) What are your favourite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I live in a suburban area but I've always wanted to live on a farm. Now having two beautiful silkies roaming free around my backyard is like a dream come true.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Nature photography, writing, singing and musical theatre.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My family are loving the silkies because they are so calm and so good with kids. I have a groodle named Summer who doesn't bother the silkies at all, we actually keep them separated, and for the most part I don't think Summer even knows they are here! I love animals and LOVE these new fluffy additions to our family.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found it by searching care tips for chickens and I decided to join in case I needed any advice on how to best look after my silkies.
