I've never been on any kind of blog or internet "chat" group so this is a first. We have a small flock of Plymouth Rocks...7 barred rock hens, 2 buff rock hens, and 1 barred rock rooster.
We love them more than we ever imagined. We have a small ranch and I come from an "animal background" having a M.S. degree in Animal Science & having raised horses & cattle & a kennel of show and racing siberian huskies for many years...but only got chickens last fall. Our hens are good layers (about 7 eggs / day). One of our buff girls recently went broody and hatched 7 babies on day 21 of her broodiness.
So we are loving the new babies!
