Introducing myself

Thanks all! I will try the olive oil trick. She is also having some issues with her eyes being all "gummed" shut. I am keeping her in a box in my living room for now (live in Michigan so it's cold in the barn even with the heat lamp). I keep cleaning out her eyes (the left one had quite a bit of mucous come out of it this morning). Do you think instead of worming the flock I should just treat her with an antibiotic? I've had chickens for a few years now and this is the first I had heard of gape worms. My flock is pretty much all free range. Any input is greatly appreciated!

Hello and welcome from Ohio....so glad you joined. A few of my younger silkies had the same thing with swollen sinuses and gunky eyes. Also would hold their heads up and gape while breating. Sounds respiratory to me. I used Denagard for 5 days and mine are all fine now. Dawg53 and few others are real experts on those things tho. If they dont respond to this post you might want to at least send Dawg a PM for help.
