Introducing New Adult Ducks to My Flock

Thank you! My wife nor I had ever seen any mutual preening behavior among ducks, so I grabbed some fast video of it. From my research I think it's fairly unusual behavior for ducks.

I am so happy with the improvements we've seen over the past couple of weeks with the rescue ducks. I hope they continue to get better. They definitely are starting to warm up to us... Still won't reliabily eat from our hands yet. Time will hopefully help.

I've seen my drake and his 2 females do some preening of each other but not like yours, that is a good way to bond I'd say..

It's amazing how some good TLC can bring an animal around. I hope this man that had all those ducks was able to find homes for more of them. makes me sad to hear how they were kept.
The rescue ones are extra special.

They will learn for you resident ducks that good things come from your hands.
