Hi,

I hatched 2 Call ducks last April for my sons nursery school. Fortunately due to COVID the school closed and I adopted the 2 wee ducks and fell in love.

unfortunately the male duck has gone missing, it happened overnight and the pen was closed so it has been a complete mystery.. wee Daisy who is left on her own, is lost without her buddy and the weather is freezing, so this evening I am getting 2 female and a male call ducks for her (Same age).

my question is, how do I introduce them to each other? Daisy is a very tame wee duck and I want to make sure all goes well. Do I just put them together straight away?

Any advise

If it were me, I'd integrate them straight away, but just monitor and see if there is any fighting - a little nibbling is expected, but if it gets out of hand, you may need to set up a pen so they can see each other, but can't touch, that way they can slowly acclimate to the presence of each other.

Thank you took your advise and they appear to be getting along great. Fingers crossed it continues. Thank you 😊
That’s good! I’m sorry you lost your male. The same thing happened to me with my Pekin’s sister and it was so heartbreaking to see her lonely. Luckily, like you, I was able to get her a new friend. They are best buddies now! :hugs
Glad Daisy has some new friends! ❤️
