Introducing new chickens to old flock

Can you post a pic of your roosts?
Sometimes it takes longer for integration.

Sure, here it is, you can't see the whole thing from this shot but most of it.

That's a pretty slick setup.
Not sure what to tell you other than put up yet another roost, I have a temporary roost I put up for pullets until they start using the main roost..... or wait it out......or maybe put the pullets on the bottom roost after dark for a few nights...or lock up the bully for a few days.

Apologies to OP @Chkngurl for the highjack of your thread.

Thanks, I'll probably just leave them for now at least for another week and see how it goes.

Yes, appologizies for high jacking this thread, I saw this and thought instead of starting a new thread on the same topic I'd post it here.

I have mixed feelings about 'highjacking' threads.....
......it can be OK, or it can get confusing with multiple responses to multiple situations which might be similar but also very different.
I guess I'm way old school about forum discussions(used to be called bulletin boards)...things have changed but not.

How well does it work to integrate one new bird? My chicks are almost eight weeks old and I found out I may have a roo that I can't keep. Should I get another hen or will just two hens do okay together?

Unless you are just wanting another chicken, the two should do fine together. But at 8 weeks introducing another hen in with the other 2 might cause your original 2 to pick on the new one... but its kind of a toss up they may get along just fine or they may pick on the new chicken. I know that probably doesnt help much but fromy experience so far (which we have a mixed age and mixed breed flock ) you really cant tell hiw they will react until they are introduced to each other.

And as long as you have enough space for all 3 chickens then there shouldnt be much of a problem they will peck at first to establish basically "who's boss" but that shouldnt last no more than maybe a week. But if they have adequate space for each of them then it shouldnt be a problem. And you can never tell your 2 hens might be fine and the new one have a problem with them too... or you could have one happy family
