I got chicks about a year ago. I had 6 hens and then a friend gave me a bantam rooster. Unfortunately after a year of them free ranging 5 of them got killed. 2 of them got killed by a wild cat (I’m almost positive) and the rooster and other 2 went missing. We searched everywhere for them with no luck. So we only have 2 left. I ended up getting more chicks today (I got 4) I’m going to keep them inside in the brooder until they are older, but how do I go about introducing them to the other 2 we have now and how long should I wait?

Is there any way you can brood them in a sectioned off area of your coop with a brooder plate?
That way the littles can see the bigs and vice versa. Integration is much easier that way.
I have mine in a built in brooder. I plan to let the littles in with the bigs as soon as I finish my new run. My hens and rooster visit the littles through their brooder pen since they were let into it this Sunday when I finally completed it.
