Introducing new chicks

Hello,

I have 10 new baby chicks arriving any day and wondering if anyone has advice on when/how to introduce them to my existing flock (currently 9 hens).
Should the baby chicks be raised separately until they are adults and then be added to the existing flock? Or perhaps sectioning a part of the coop off and keeping them in the coop as well- but in a separate area where they can all see/hear each other but the adults could not hurt the chicks?

Separate by all means. You need a brooder for baby chicks. Hens will kill them, and if they dont weather and everything else will.

You gotta grow them up separetly until they are about 2 to 3 months old. Then introduce them to the flock in a separate cage so the older hens get used to them first.

Works great if you have the space and get it setup ahead of time.
Integrating young is much easier than when chicks are older.
