introducing new duck

i had two ducks, one indian runner, and a pekin that grew up since they were little, and did everything together. about ten days ago the indian runner died. my pekin was very sad for two days, he didnt eat and come out of his little hut. but I know a lady that has a indian runner and we are going to buy it from her, will my pekin be friends with this new duck?

She will but give them a few days to get to know each other through fencing, especially since your Pekin will be heavier and you don't want the Runner hurt. A large dog crate of temp fencing till they have had a chance to meet and greet then all should be fine, when your able to be out with them you might try them together after a day and give out treats if things look good let them be together, all ducks are different and how they react to a new comer. So sorry for your loss. and hoping this will perk your Pekin up. and

The indian runners name was nina and the pekin duck is Mo. The new ducks name is maija
