After the passing of one of my ducks i decided to go buy some more knowing that ducks are very social.

I have a small mixed flock with 5 chickens and (from today) only one pekin duck. I bought 4 new pekin ducklings that are 1-2 weeks old.

How should I go about introducing the ducklings into the flock?

With fencing between new one and resident flock. Of course they are to young to be outside right now with out warmth but on nice warm days you should take them out to visit with you supervising so the adults won't pick on the ducklings. Once the ducklings get adult size everyone should be use to each other and become 1 flock.

@Pekins4Life Welcome to BYC.

I assume the First Duck is a Hen?.........Keep them separate till the Ducklings stop peeping.......Once the Ducks mature you may have to have two separate pens for the Chickens and Ducks......As The Drakes get older and I am sure you will have a few, they can kill Chickens if they try to breed them.......Ducks with Ducks.....Chickens with Chickens...........

My Ducks HATE my Chickens............

Cheers!
