I began with two black australorps in a 2x2 meter coop in my backyard. I got them at 4 weeks and moved them to the coop at 8 week. One night I neglected to secure the door and I can only imagine that a fox took one of my girls.
My remaining hen was very shook up, with reason, so I purchase two new hens of the same breed and same size/age.
My original hen did not react well and attacked the newbies violently. They were only acquainted for a few hours
I have moved her to different spot to allow them to get comfortable.
What should I do next?

there's another post today about baby chicks - it sorta applies -
she's telling the new hens she's the boss

if you can have the new ones in a cage or behind wire for a little bit it will help her gets used to them
she will still likely peck at them when together but hopefully not too bad once she's used to them

good luck
