Introducing new hens

I have 5 - 2 year old Rhode Island layers in a pen on one side of property.On the other side I have about 40+ 5 month old Rhode Island hens.
How is the best way to introduce some of my young ones to the older girls??

Put them on the roosts together at night. There will be some scuffles for a few days... then they'll settle in.

Should I maybe put the bigger or doesn't make any difference?

I'd put the two older ones with the younger ones.

I have to move the young ones to the older girls pen as the pen will about 10 for now. I haven't been able to thin down my flock very well(no one buying down here). My goal is three pens 2 for egg production 1 for hatching eggs. I also have4 young roosters in the pen with the 40+ hens.
