Introducing new hens...

Gonna give it a go again. The new girls have been in the hen house inside a large cage for a couple weeks now. Going to try and let them out again in new territory. Hoping I don't have a blood bath like last time. Everyone think happy chicken thoughts for me!

Well today went ok. Only left them together for a half hour or so and observed them very closely. I'm so paranoid now! There was a little pecking and squawking, but mostly the roo picking on the girls. He may have to go on down the road. The girls were being pretty polite to each other. The chicken who got beat up so badly did not want to come out and partake in the intros so one of my original girls got up in the cage with her. Super cute. They shared a bowl of food.

Will try and leave them out longer together tomorrow.

Kittymomma thanks for all your support! So far still going well. Left them out for an hour today. Let the ladies out first for a while and then the roo.
