introducing new hens

we have 9 hens & 1 rooster.we are trying to introduce 3 new, younger hens. right now we are keeping them caged seperately, because each time we release them into the coop, all the other chickens attack them relentlessly. HELP!

Tanya.....Keeping them seperat for a few week....but where they can see and talk to each other, is the best way. Give them time to adjust...there will be some pecking...to readjust the " order" Just watch it doesnt get too mean! Good luck......I have 24 newbies, I have to introduce, in a few weeks to my 13 others. UGH!
