I have a bantam cochin pullet that I am trying to introduce into my Frizzle group. I put her in at night and the next moring the rooster was bawking and bawking. Today I went to check on it and the rooster and two hens had pecked the feathers off the top of its head and it was bleeding. Can anyone help tell me a better way to introduce a new pullet to existing flock? Right now I have the bird seperated so it can heal. Thanks.

The best way is to read the frequently Asked questions in the BYC fourm, Because there are diffrent ways and each one works diffrent from case to the other.

Best luck.

Whatever you do, don't introduce her if she still makes noises like a baby chick! They will kill her eventually. I don't know why they do it but they will! Be sure she sounds mature as much as looks it.
