Introducing pullets

I have 5 hens and one rooster that are about 3 years old. I want to introduce a couple of young pullets ( I hope) to the flock. At what age can they be introduced without being harmed?

you should keep them seperate but visable for a week or so. That is best. I have also put them in the coop at night once they are full size or close too it. They will probably still be picked on every now and then anyways. Just seems to be a Chicken thing
