Introducing Remi!

That depends on the scovys we all know they can be temperamental this time of year[saying that mildly]lol so all you can do is start letting them have supervised time together and see how it goes, As for Remi being out where she might try and run off you'd have to be ready to stop that from happening thankfully she can't fly and they can't run all that fast so you'd most likely be able to fend off any runoff. I'd give her a week there first though so she gets used to her new home before trying. Of course you'll be able to judge better since your with them. You could always use some type of poles to extend your arms to get her where you want her to go and she may just follow Matilda too.

Wow! Hubby insisted on letting Remi decide how she felt about going on the evening foraging walk, and look at her! :eek:She will still be in the safe spot with ‘Tildy overnight, but I’m very impressed so far! She very much enjoyed her little foraging session, and briefly checked out the duckio.

That is so cool that they are doing so well with her. Didn't you say she was an only duck where she was? I bet she is loving having a family.
They had other ducks, but the only other Rouen, who was her sister, passed away last year. Hopefully, she will enjoy having another Rouen to chat with once again. I have not yet heard her famously loud quacks, but I’m sure she will start talking more when she’s settled in. Daphne and Matilda used to have a constant back-and-forth discussion about anything and everything. Matilda has been so very quiet this past week. Now, they’ll both have someone to tell their stories to!

I don’t have new pictures yet, but wanted to update anyways. Remi is a lovely girl, and she’s doing great! After the first night, I ended up allowing her to fully join the crew, mostly because Matilda wasn’t tolerating confinement, and Remi didn’t want to be alone. My white Muscovy is still very fond of frequently reminding Remi that she’s the #1 duck. However, Remi lost her patience when my white Muscovy was trying to block her from leaving the duckio last night, and Remi just ran right over her! Remi is showing her leadership skills while out foraging, and she’s hugely fond of the pool. She’s been chatting with Matilda, but is not obnoxiously loud at all. I will try to get updated pictures soon, mainly so I can update her former family, but I will post some here too!

So glad everything is working out! Way to go, Remi!
