It took 9 days, but it's done. A few little odds 'n ends, but the hens are in, the chicks have moved from the house into the tractor, and all's well. The coop is 4 X 6, the run is 8 X 24. The run has 3' hardware cloth on the bottom, then chicken wire above that.

The hens are checking it out and left us love offerings before we got the bedding down.

Jeez, I am looking pretty old these days!

You did a great job!

Your coop and run look very nice, and I really like the color you painted them!

Thanks, Erin. I love yours as well, especially that rustic look with real logs. Those green things...trees, right? I've heard of them. Yours look kinda weird there back where you live. Yours appear to grow straight up out of the ground! Out here in the constantly windy desert, our trees (such as they are) all grow at about a 30 degree angle.

Great looking coop. A little constructive criticism would be to spin the 2X2 roosts 45° so the flat side is up. The way they are now will get a little rough on their feet and are much harder to hold on to.

Thank you! We have lots of large trees here, that's one of the things I love about Arkansas.

Great idea. I did it on the bottom step, but for some reason, I must have forgotten on the next two above it!

Went out this morning and spun those 2X2's. Thanks again for the reminder!
