Cyn - this post is long overdue I know. I told you I would get some pictures but I have just been so busy trying to keep up with everything. Anyway, I finally took some today.

This is my new barred rock breeder Tux, Hawkeye's son!

Told you he was a handsome fellow! [IMG]

Quote:S.C. you are so right! OMGosh, Jay! He does look exactly like the perfect version of his daddy. Thank you for posting the pictures-I somehow missed the post till now. I am tearing up because I miss Hawkeye so, so much. He left a void here and I'd give almost anything to have him back again. [IMG] I loved Hawkeye's very broad body, unlike so many hatchery birds, and I can see that Tux inherited it. His barring is even better than his dad's, too! Amazing. I'm so proud of Hawkeye and Tux. Thank you, Jay.

Much as I love my Zane, I think his baby brother, Dutch, will be my flock leader. He has very nice barring and a beautiful comb and I think he'll do his daddy proud, just like your Tux. I am lucky to have three sons of Hawkeye myself and two of his daughters as well. It was my fond wish that the three sons of Hawk would lead this big gang of crazy women here. I just pray that Zane will be able to walk again normally some day. All three are Hawkeye's with Lexie, just like Tux. I've been so blessed with a wonderful bunch of roosters, but no one will ever take that special place in my heart for Hawkeye. Tux looks just like Hawkeye would have without all his battle scars he had when I rescued him. [IMG]
