This little guy has so much ENERGY! And he already loves swimming. He's just over a week old, and here he is, zooming. He's already so well oiled.

My gosh, yes! He's (I'm just calling it that because) a real kick! He's sharing a brooder with my special needs chicken girls who DWARF him. We have the brooder divided. We thought it was to protect him from the big chickens, but it's been necessary to protect them from him! We had them out in the yard for sunshine therapy. He chased the chickens all over the place, nibbling their toes and jumping up to nibble their beaks. He's constantly running or jumping off things or getting into things.

I'm dying to see what he looks like all grown up. When do Calls feather out? Is it the same age as other ducks?

It's the only duckling that hatched from a friend's current batch. I'll be picking it up next week. This is a video a friend sent.

It's a teeny little call duckling. She said it's the size of a golf ball.
