well, they don't really have names yet. But nonetheless, meet our two new embden girls. We found these beauties on craigslist last night. We arrived just in time to see the gander and another goose loaded into boxes and taken away. These two lovely ladies were still there so they came to live with us. The were obviously the recipients of much loving, so they have reverse Tufted Roman thing going on. They seem to be tolerant if not friendly. We mostly left them to themselves today to allow them to settle in to their new surroundings.

BTW, I posted an ad in the WTB section, but if anyone in the Knoxville, Tennessee area has a potential husband for these lovely ladies, they are looking for a suitor.

Both ladies found the igloo doghouse we placed in their pen for a nest box and both laid yesterday. Now if one would just decide to set in a few days. If not, our hovabator will be empty after this weekend. It would be a shame to let the eggs go to waste...

Where those the ones in Blaine? I was drooling over the ad but it was just too far and I am not quite ready for adults. They are beautiful!

Yes. Someone get there 5 minutes before us and got the gander and other goose. They are very pretty birds. I would have loved to have had the whole quad.

I would be surprised if they go broody quickly enough in a new location. I'd grab these first eggs and hold them for the incubator. The early ones should still be fertile.
