Hello! My name is Mandy, my introduction is below ☺

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? We are new! I've wanted chickens for years, but with Covid we decided to go ahead finally take the plunge this year

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? We have 13 chickens (so far!)

(3) What breeds do you have? We have a mixed flock including leghorns, Austrolorps, golden comets, BLRW, and our Ayem Cemani rooster

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? We didn't realize that chickens are hilarious, we love watching them free range in the yard

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Being a stay at home mom, chickens are the only hobby I have time for lol

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I'm a mom to a 5 year old boy, I am getting married to my best friend next month! I'm also currently in nursing school. In addition to our chickens, we have 2 cats and one dog

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? I'm in a similar group on Facebook and heard if this forum through them 🙂

Of course! My husband wasnt really into chickens until he saw all the different breeds. He just had to have the all black "metal chicken" 😂
