Introduction and first post

Had one German Shepherd and vowed to never own another - his death took too big a piece of my heart. I'm intrigued by the intelligence and intensity of Belgian Malinois. I'll stick with my easy going beagles.
GSDs and Mals really suit our lifestyle and family! We absolutely adore them. We lost our Mal in December and are still recovering. It was a devastating loss.

Hi and welcome to BYC. Hook up with other BYC members nearby using the links in my signature, below. Like @sourland I have had and adore GSDs - they are much faster learners than I could ever be :)

Make yourself at home and enjoy the forums.

Best wishes

Hello and welcome to BYC a place where many poultry lovers come together and make one big family.

If you ever have a question just ask anyone on here will be happy to help you and if you know the answer to someones question go ahead and answer. Thats the great thing about byc you can ask and answer.

One more thing before you ask a question if you want to see if its already answered before search it here https://www.backyardchickens.com/search/

So glad you joined us at Backyard Chickens. I've been intrigued by the drive, enthusiasm and athletic ability of Belgian Malinois. Way too much dog for a very petite person who has only had Cocker Spaniels.
I can’t even describe the personality of these dogs. It’s very much an in your face, intense, attention demanding animal that is probably smarter than you with a workhorse tossed in, but so very affectionate. GSD on crack! lol Definitely the kind of dog that has to have a job or you’ll be in trouble. It works great for us because the whole family is the type that are no fun to be around if we are bored and have nothing to do! 😂
