Introduction and my coop

Wow! I thought I was the only one. Our mortality assumptions were way off.

No roos.

Discussed that we had too many already... very next day my wife goes to pick-up feed and we get a 3rd easter egger!

I do... my wife on the other hand... I might need to do it some weekend when she's away and have a BBQ with the guys before she gets back!

Not meaning to second guess - but I totally messed up my math on my coop - for some reason I got in my head that a 4 X 8 was 48 sq feet and then an 8 X 8 would be 96 sq feet. Well, I realized the error of my ways and am now planning a 12 X 12.

Yours does look really nice - I like how it matches the house.

We had planned on a flock of 8, which at 4sqft/bird=32sqft

But...
we were told to plan on some dying... none died.
we were told to plan on 15% being roo's... no roos.
then my wife ordered them and thought "blue/green eggs would be cool" and we got 2 more...

Boy I totally know how that goes, dieing mine didn't either,
no roos, and too many cuties to pass up. I built well almost done building a 12x12 coop and think it still might be alittle small. So I may have to rehome a few of my little fuzzbutts!
