Introduction and needing help

Welcome to BYC. I prefer broody hens, but when an egg doesn't hatch, I always candle and look for signs of life before disposing of it. Sometimes cool spots can cause an egg to develop slower.
 
Welcome to BYC! Sorry to hear this. I’ve never hatched chicks so I don’t know of any advice or reasons. Bummer!
