G’Day from down under ReedM :frow Welcome!

Well done! :clap

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share more Pictures and Stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Hey everyone! Been using this forum for a while, but only recently made an account! Thought I'd make a post as I have just finished building my new chicken run, after getting fed up with how I kept them for the last couple months, fenced off and uncovered, which resulted in a huge muddy area of the garden, of course! They are kept on straw, which has a permeable membrane underneath to seperate it from the mud, but allow any water etc to drain through... hopefully.

Let me know your thoughts! It is 8x8 foot, and has 2 bantams and 2 regular chickens!

So;

The first pic is after the second coat of wood treatment.

Welcome to Backyard Chickens coop is looking pretty good for number of birds you have

Thanks for all the welcomes and replies!

This is my first proper DIY build, and I'm pretty happy with it so far. I live in South East England, we have on and off rain, but nothing awful, so hopefully this will keep them nice and dry!
