Hi, I thought I introduced myself as a new member a while back, but not really sure if I did it correctly. So for the record, let me do it again, and go on to my question. I'm known as "IrishEyes45" on this site, live in Jamestown, NC. My husband and I are both retired and we enjoy being retired. Below were some of the questions suggested to use for introductions.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? We had chickens years ago when we lived in Green Bay, WI, but after we moved to NC, both of us worked and did not have time to pursue this hobby. We started again in Summer, 2013.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 11 hens and 1 rooster, and about 8 weeks ago, purchased 12 pullets as chicks. Also had 11 meat chickens which are now is the freezer.

(3) What breeds do you have? various breeds for the older hens, I think several are red cross-link, 1 Cuckoo Maran, 2 white leghorns, the others I'm not sure. Our rooster is black feathers with irridescent tail feathers and a pea comb. I thought he was a buckeye because of his comb, but someone told me he probably is a mix. Either way, he's a fine rooster. The new pullets are 6 red sex links and 6 Ameracaunas (sp?).

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? by accident when I was looking for chicken information on line

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? gardening, reading, choir, bible study

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Married for 38 to a most wonderful man--still happy to be married to him. One daughter (pediatric nurse), no other pets, retired. and that's enough info about me.

I think I'll do my question in a new thread.
