Good morning chicken friends and fanatics. My name is Josh and I’m from Phoenix/Mesa Arizona.

I have a third of an acre in the city that I am slowly converting to a permaculture food forest run off of captured monsoon rain water.

I just built a coop and we have 4 chickens: 2 barred rock and 2 Easter egger.
My little kids love helping in the garden and with the chickens

My next project is raising quail. Building our own incubator right now. I would love any input on that, and I have greatly appreciated all the fantastic threads on the topic.

Blessings!

Hi Josh, it's nice to have you her with us! If you haven't found it yet, you may like to pop in on your state thread for tips on how to deal with the challenges unique to your part of the country: Arizona

Make yourself at home here!

Your permaculture goal sounds like it could be a lot of work, but is quite admirable. Best wishes with getting it accomplished!

Warning: I also started with four chickens. I have long since crossed the line into the camp of "fanatics" that you mentioned. I have lots of poultry, lots of coops and try to never spend a day without at least checking into BYC.

Welcome to our flock, Josh!
