Thank you!
Best wishes for a great incubation!
Agreed. My stress level went down so much when @janiedoe helped me. I can only hope to pay it forward several times,My mentor has just been amazing, things would have been much more daunting if it weren’t for her advice. Thank you!
Heres some pictures! My first batch is almost two weeks old (the pics are from their first few days) and the second batch (the pictures with four turkeys) are a week and a bit old! They’re already so big! Only had three of the chickens hatch unfortunately but after consulting my mentor she said that even if incubator conditions are perfect, sometimes just the eggs getting cold before being collected (cuz we still were knee-deep into winter at the time they started laying) is enough to reduce hatch rate, that and them being the first eggs of the season. Regardless I am now happily the care taker of 9 chicks and poults (6 turkeys and 3 chickens). Bonus, my mentor offered to give me a few more chicks, which is just awesome! Anyways thanks again to everyone for being so welcoming and I was so grateful for these forums when I had different questions (way past considerate texting time at night) and thanks to this amazing community my one turkey chick is now sporting a tape/bandaid “boot” in order to fix his toes being crooked.
Thanks again everyone!
