I have a Buff Orpington pair currently, the hen of the pair was very docile and was welcoming to the newcomers. The rooster however was mad and mounted to the new chick (12weeks). Then he decided to guard the coop door while the 12 weeks chicks hitched down and slept, that was when I checked on them and put them in their hutch where it was warm and not deadly. What can I do to to make him more welcoming to the chicks?
