Hello all! Just making my introduction. My name is Noemi, and I hail from the San Francisco Bay Area. I was raised in the suburbs, but spent summers with my grandparents in California's San Joaquin Valley, where I would visit the dairy farms. I've always said I'd one day buy a house and have my own little farm.

Well, I recently bought a house with a huge backyard! (My dream come true!) As an ovo-vegetarian, I enjoy growing my own produce. So far, I've planted 5 fruit trees and built a raised bed for my vegetable garden. Next up, the chickens, and I have zero experience in this. Right now I'm in the research stage. I'll be coming here for advice on the following:

  • Types of hens; eggs
  • Chicken Coops
  • Care

I look forward to learning from you all.

Cheers!

Welcome!

Congratulations on your new home and best wishes with your venture.

I hope you enjoy BYC; not only is it overflowing with lots of useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures about chickens, turkeys, duck, quail, Peas and pretty much any other feathered and non feathered friends
