(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am somewhat new. We have owned chickens before but took a 4 year break and started again.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Presently we have 9 hens and 3 roos. All are still pretty young (about 2 1/2 months).

(3) What breeds do you have?
Currently have 3 Buff Orpington, 3 Partridge Chanteclar, 3 Silver Laces Wyandotte, and 3 Euskal Oiloa.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Searching Google

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Holistic nutrition and health, my animals, camping, hunting, garden.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I am married, have 3 kids (twin 10 yo boys and my daughter who is 8). We live on just over 3 acres and we raise our own broilers, have hens and pigs.
We also have sugar gliders, a Boerboel (south African mastiff), and 4 cats.
We are looking to expand our feather family to include ostriches. Our plan is to build up that flock eventually but it will be slow as we learn as we go.
I am also a Health Coach and love being able to support people who are looking to make their lives healthier.

:welcome

Ostriches sound like an interesting bird to raise. I've read other members experiences with them here on BYC, if you use the Search you can find that section too.

Best of luck to you and thanks for joining us!
