G’Day from down under Kessel23 :frow Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

As casportpony mentioned, if you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Welcome to BYC. You have good egg layers. My RIR's deliver almost daily and they are not shy. Mine get into all my business even around loud power tools. My drill bit has to compete with their beaks while trying to drill holes. They like to peck at the sawdust around the working drill bit. They have to see if I'm making my cuts right even with a loud skill saw.

Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am not new to chickens, my dad had them around before I was born and he would get a new batch of around 50 chickens every 2-3 years from Murray McMurray hatchery.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Right now I have around 25 chickens and 9 ducks.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have mostly Rhode Island Reds but also a few white & brown leghorns and some black australorps.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
My grandpa told me about BackYardChickens.com a few years ago, we would use it to find out how to care for sick birds in the winter. After I learned how to care for sick birds I had very few problems with my birds and forgot about Backyard chickens until I decided to get peacocks this year and I needed to learn how to care for them but it was hard for me to find helpful websites, so I came here.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I also raise rabbits and parakeets.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I live with my mom and dad, i'm the second oldest of five. My dad breeds dogs and grows asparagus.
