(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

Yes; I've read the "The Chicken Chick's Guide to Backyard Chickens" book and have been poking around trying to get all the information I need to build a small urban chicken coop and run. My wife and I are looking for maybe around three chickens to start in our small backyard.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

None. Gathering info for now.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Backpacking, cooking, electronics engineering

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

My wife and our two cats right now and looking to expand. I work as an electrical engineer and am looking to see if we can raise some chickens in our backyard garden.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?

Random googling brought me here. I am hoping to find some chicken coop plans and other information regarding what plant species / environment will be good for a chicken coop/run.

Chicken run & plant species should never be used in the same sentence Chickens are better than any weedwacker you'll ever find.
